“The
Labubu Dictionary”
Labubu Dictionary”
Product Making, Publication (2025)
Small, yet big. Cute, yet creepy. A toy, yet a system.
The ‘Labubu’ can be described in many different ways. The impact it has brought today spreads across many areas of culture. The current project is a way of portraying this phenomenon and the hidden logic behind the toy, which makes it not just a singular item, but an entire system itself that has become so big yet strange, in unique and unexpected ways.
“The Labubu Dictionary” is a book that is made up of different words that are inspired by the ‘Labubu’ and terms that can be used to describe the social behaviours that happen within the world of blind boxes. However, inside the dictionary, there is also a secret mini digital scale that can be used to weigh blind mystery boxes to find the secret edition toys, which are prohibited in certain retail shops or stores.
