(2025)In the summer, I stumbled upon an old convenience store during my trip to Seoul, South Korea. Despite it being my first time visiting this particular store, the building and environment unexpectedly evoked a nostalgic image of an old childhood memory that I used to know. Soon, it reminded me of an artist called ‘Lee Me Kyeoung’ whose work focuses on drawing old buildings and capturing the soft warmth of the place.
Inspired by her work and the significant moment of the store, I wanted to draw my interpretation of the building with a little twist of my own memories and imagination. Specifically, emulating the small interactions and behaviours that happen within a place or time.
